For data removal and identity theft I use a combination or Kanary great for free service and is somewhat automated. Really eye opening to see whats out there.
I also use Malwarebytes which is a great antivirus software and offers the other services as well. Its a great one stop shop for all your privacy needs.
Thank you. I got Malwarebytes and will get ProtonMail later today. Digital detox is difficult and thank you for putting up a path for privacy enthusiasts like me.
The problem is they can manipulate our information.. they can use CGI for imaging -even voice recognition, if they have a copy of our voice they can use it anytime and say something and put our voice to it. They've been showing this in like soap operas and on TV for about a year now.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it. This is focused mostly on everyday people mostly to bring awareness, education and build a mindset to be slightly paranoid about what they are doing online. I’m sure you would agree there is no way to be completely secure but mitigation to the best of your ability is self responsibility. There are things we can’t avoid due to integrations with different platforms and many people have no choice but to use some platforms I would consider a no go. This is more to be aware of where data goes, who’s using it and what they’re doing with it. If that makes sense.
Use a secondary number - I thought I saw a post where you made recommendations on this, but I can't find it. Do you have recommendations for this so I can get off Google Voice? Thanks for all your amazing posts!
Hi so the best alternative so far that I’ve found is literally called Burner which does involve a subscription. Unfortunately there are not a ton of what I would call “good alternatives” to Google voice. I don’t think this aspect of privacy has really taken off. Most people focus on the encrypted messaging through things like signal and session. Hopefully this helps!
I found out that Firefox Relay has a paid service for phone masking. I haven't tried it, but I like their email masking. https://relay.firefox.com/phone/
I have been using Kagi Search. Have you used it? How good is it? It charges $10/month fee.
Haven’t used it. What do you get for $10 a month?
First of all, thanks to your blog and particularly this article. I scored a 4 :( Now I want to spend sometime to get a 8-10 range.
This page highlights their features. I am not a Kagi sales/founder guy. Just reporting on what I used.

I paid a month to see what I get and right now, I can’t pay, so opted out and I am their free plan.
On a related note, do you suggest any Data Broker Removal service ? Exploring Kanary, DeleteMe and Incogni.
Thats so great to hear!
If you want to get to 8-10 I suggest checking out my 5-day email mini course

No one is safe
Jason,
This is a good post!
It's not the normal fluff that is usually passed off as "privacy things to do", and well-written.
It has the right stuff - dumping chrome, tracking protection and clean-ups, for eg.,. (I wonder if you might add caveats to Brave though).
These are things even "normie" users can do for the most part. (although, I wonder if people reliant on Google Docs might differ)
